About

Amanda Rainsberger, CEO & President

Amanda Rainsberger is the Founder and CEO of Invictus Fitness Holdings LLC, a multi-unit fitness company and franchisee of Anytime Fitness. She currently owns and operates 14 Anytime Fitness clubs, has one additional location under development, and is actively planning seven more clubs as part of a disciplined long-term expansion strategy.

Amanda brings more than 20 years of experience in fitness, recreation, coaching, leadership, and business operations, including over a decade as an Anytime Fitness franchise owner and operator. Throughout her career, she has worked across nearly every level of the business, from personal training and club management to district leadership, director-level operations, acquisitions, new club development, remodels, operational turnarounds, and multi-unit ownership.

That hands-on experience defines her leadership philosophy. Amanda understands what it takes to build and scale successful fitness businesses because she has lived every stage of the journey. She has opened new clubs, acquired existing businesses, revitalized underperforming locations, developed leadership teams, improved operational performance, enhanced the member experience, and built systems designed for long-term growth. Rather than leading from a distance, she remains deeply involved in operations and believes strong leadership begins with understanding the day-to-day realities of running great clubs.

Under Amanda's leadership, Invictus Fitness Holdings is evolving from a collection of individual health clubs into a scalable regional operating platform built on operational excellence, leadership development, and disciplined growth. Her strategy emphasizes geographic density, standardized systems, data-driven decision-making, shared resources, and a coaching-first culture that creates value for members, employees, lenders, and future investment partners.

Amanda's vision extends beyond simply owning more gyms. She is building stronger clubs with exceptional teams, consistent operational standards, expanded coaching services, and a member experience centered on accountability, education, and measurable results. She believes fitness is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and is committed to making high-quality coaching, training, nutrition, and wellness more accessible within every community her company serves.

As one of the few women building a large-scale multi-unit fitness platform in the industry, Amanda is creating an organization founded on purpose, integrity, and excellence. Her long-term vision is to establish Invictus Fitness Holdings as one of the premier fitness operating companies while developing leaders, strengthening communities, and creating lasting enterprise value through disciplined execution and sustainable growth.

Growth Story

Built from Sweat Equity. Forged Through Resilience. Grounded in a Lifelong Belief in Fitness.

Amanda's story began long before she owned a gym. It started on the basketball court. From an early age, basketball taught her discipline, resilience, teamwork, confidence, and the importance of showing up long before anyone was watching. It taught her how to compete with purpose, lead under pressure, embrace accountability, and keep moving forward when things were difficult. Those lessons became the foundation for both her career and her approach to leadership. Fitness became the catalyst that expanded what she believed was possible. Strength training helped her become stronger, more confident, and more capable—not only as an athlete, but as a person. It allowed her to compete beyond expectations, play multiple positions, and continually push beyond limits she once believed existed. The harder she worked, the more she discovered what consistent effort could accomplish. That mindset would shape every chapter that followed.

Amanda earned dual Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Health, Physical Education & Recreation, followed by a Master of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Management. For her, business, athletics, coaching, recreation, leadership, and human performance were never separate interests—they were different expressions of the same purpose: helping people grow through fitness. Along the way, she was fortunate to have coaches, mentors, family, and friends who believed in her, challenged her, and encouraged her to pursue opportunities beyond what she imagined for herself. Their influence shaped her leadership philosophy and reinforced a lesson she still carries today: when people are supported, challenged, and held accountable, they often accomplish far more than they initially believe possible.

Even early in life, Amanda was drawn to building. As a student, she found ways to start small businesses, organize projects, lead teams, and turn ideas into action. After college, she built her career through higher education, recreation, coaching, and community wellness, gaining experience in programming, facility operations, leadership, and organizational development. She also helped support the planning, construction, buildout, and programming of a $15 million recreation facility, providing firsthand experience in how successful fitness spaces are designed, operated, and used to serve their communities.

Looking back, fitness, business, leadership, and community were never separate paths—they were always leading toward the same destination. Long before Amanda owned her first club, she often talked about one day owning a gym of her own. What once sounded like an ambitious dream became reality with her first location. One club became several, and several evolved into a growing multi-unit fitness platform. Today, that vision extends far beyond owning gyms. Amanda is building an organization dedicated to developing leaders, strengthening communities, expanding access to coaching, and creating opportunities for people to experience the same confidence, resilience, and personal growth that fitness has provided throughout her own life.

Building the Vision

Around 2009, after a frustrating experience at a large big-box gym, Amanda began searching for something different. The environment felt crowded, impersonal, and overwhelming. Waiting for equipment, navigating a massive facility, and feeling like just another member did not reflect what she believed fitness should be. She wanted a place that felt welcoming, convenient, and connected to the community—a place where people could train with confidence, build strength, and truly belong. That search led her to Anytime Fitness. The concept immediately resonated: neighborhood clubs, 24/7 access, coaching, community, and a more personal approach to helping people improve their health.

In 2014, Amanda opened her first Anytime Fitness club. It was not built with outside investors, a corporate support team, or unlimited resources. Like many entrepreneurs, she built it through long hours, hard work, reinvestment, and an unwavering commitment to serving members. She learned by doing—solving problems, developing systems, hiring and coaching team members, making mistakes, improving processes, and continually finding better ways to operate. Every milestone was earned through persistence, discipline, and a willingness to do the work that often goes unseen.

In November 2018, Amanda committed her full attention to growing the business. She believed the opportunity extended far beyond a single club, but just as that vision was gaining momentum, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the fitness industry to a standstill. Clubs were forced to close for more than six months, creating one of the most difficult periods independent gym owners had ever faced. The experience tested every aspect of the business—operations, finances, leadership, and resilience—and reinforced lessons that continue to shape the company today. Adaptability, financial discipline, operational excellence, and steady leadership proved essential not only to surviving uncertainty but to emerging stronger.

When the industry began to recover, Amanda moved forward with a more deliberate strategy: develop new clubs, acquire existing locations, strengthen operations, and build an organization designed for long-term growth. Yet the goal has never been simply to own more gyms. It is to create clubs where people feel supported, coaching is valued, teams are developed, and members are known by name. Every location is intended to be a place where people can improve their health, rebuild confidence, and discover that fitness has the power to transform far more than physical strength.

The Meaning of Invictus

The word Invictus is Latin for "unconquered." It comes from the timeless poem by William Ernest Henley, whose message is both simple and enduring: while people cannot always control what happens to them, they can always choose how they respond. That philosophy has shaped Amanda's life and continues to guide the way she leads.

As an athlete, Amanda learned that growth comes through discipline, preparation, and perseverance. As a business owner, she discovered that success is earned through long hours, difficult decisions, calculated risks, and an unwavering commitment to keep moving forward. Building a business has brought victories worth celebrating, but it has also brought challenges that tested her leadership, resilience, and belief in the mission. Those experiences reinforced a lesson that continues to shape Invictus Fitness Holdings: adversity does not define a person. The response to adversity does.

That belief extends far beyond business. Every day, people walk into a fitness club carrying their own challenges. Some are taking the first step toward better health. Others are rebuilding confidence after illness, injury, loss, or years of putting themselves last. They are not simply joining a gym—they are choosing to begin again. That is what Invictus represents.

At its core, Invictus is the belief that strength is built through consistency, confidence grows through action, and every person has the ability to become stronger than the obstacles they face. Amanda's vision is to build fitness clubs where people feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and empowered to improve their lives.

As William Ernest Henley wrote in the closing lines of Invictus:

"I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul."

Those words reflect the culture Amanda strives to build every day—one rooted in resilience, personal responsibility, and the belief that no matter where a person's journey begins, they always have the power to shape what comes next. Today, Amanda continues building Invictus Fitness Holdings with the same belief that started her journey—that fitness has the power to strengthen people, transform communities, and change lives.
